Organisational development: United Response

The task

Support United Response, a UK charity that provides personalised care and support to people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism and physical disabilities, to embed the Disability Confident ethos in their workforce and culture, through a regionally targeted proof of concept pilot.

Our approach

This project focused on developing the workforce at United Response so staff could live the organisations’ values. Snagge Moore & Associates delivered a series of training courses for senior support workers and senior managers, around the Disability Confident agenda and how this aligned to the wider ambitions of United Response. We worked with regional teams and Directors responsible for human resources and business development to support information sharing, knowledge transfer and a thorough approach to the Disability Confident agenda.

What difference did this make

By supporting United Response to align their approach with national policy and best practice and by engaging with staff through relevant, digestible training sessions, we were able to support the organisation to meet their objective of not only increasing the number of disabled people they employ, but also understanding why employing disabled people benefits the organisation as a whole.

The project also aligned well with the ambition and aims of government policy makers and key influencers. This in turn supported wider business development activity and profile raising.
